  • Robin Elliott University of Toronto

Abstract

The review summarizes the main features and contents of the Taruskin/Gibbs music history textbook. While finding the book’s pedagogical aims and general quality to be excellent, the review finds fault with the blurring of distinctions between fact and interpretation.
