CFP: Fall 2010 Meeting, AMS Capital Chapter (October 16, 2010)
Abstracts are now being accepted for the Fall Meeting of the Capital Chapter of the American Musicological Society, which will be held on Saturday, October 16 at the University of Maryland, College Park, in College Park, MD. Please submit abstracts of no more than 500 words via email to Andrew Flory (aflory@su.edu) as an attachment in Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF. The deadline for abstracts is Friday, September 10, 2010.

Presenters should note that the conference will be held during the weekend preceding the Schumann Bicentennial Festival-Conference hosted by the University of Maryland School of Music. More information on this event can be found here.. Following AMS guidelines, papers should not exceed 30 minutes. The abstract should summarize the argument and line of reasoning to be presented in the paper and explain how the research findings contribute to or change current scholarly thinking. More details about the meeting, including directions, hotel options, and the preliminary program and abstracts, will be sent to members registered on the Society Listserv and posted on the Chapter website as the meeting approaches.


The Capital Chapter of the American Musicological Society encompasses the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia, and the eastern part of West Virginia. Our members include scholars affiliated with area schools, universities, government agencies, and ensembles, as well as independent researchers. Be sure to join us at our next meeting.
