Humanities E-Books

Humanities E-Book, www.humanitiesebook.org, is a digital collection of 2,200 full-text titles offered by the ACLS in collaboration with nineteen learned societies (including the AMS), nearly 100 contributing publishers, and librarians at the University of Michigan’s Scholarly Publishing Office. The result is an online, fully searchable collection of high-quality books in the Humanities, recommended and reviewed by scholars and featuring unlimited multi-user access and free, downloadable MARC records. HEB is available 24/7 on- and off-campus through standard web browsers.

Subscriptions are made through institutions or through standing membership in any of the 70 ACLS constituent societies. The subscription offers unlimited access to 2,200 cross- searchable, full-text titles across the humanities and related social sciences; 576 more titles will be available in fall 2009. The collection includes both in- and out-of-print titles ranging from the 1880s through the present. Titles link to publishers’ websites and to online reviews in JSTOR , Project MUSE, and other sites.

Individual subscriptions are USD $35.00 for a twelve-month period.

Individual subscriptions are ideal for those whose schools might not yet have an institutional subscription to HEB or for individual members of a learned society not affiliated with a subscribing institution.
