The AMS bids a fond farewell to Kristen Lavoie, who leaves the post of Executive Assistant at the AMS to pursue other career opportunities. Kristen worked for the AMS from the time the organization moved to Maine in the summer of 2006.

Renewal notices and JAMS 61/1

JAMS 61/1, Spring 2008, is nearly ready to be sent to the membership. We want to make sure those who wish to renew do so prior to the release of the JAMS issue, to be sure they receive their copy in a timely way. If you're a member and have not yet renewed for 2008, please do so now.

We sent out "Second Notice" forms a week ago, and an email notification a couple of days ago. If you're not sure, log in at www.theams.us and you can see your current membership status.

Those who renew prior to March 18 will be assured of receiving JAMS 61/1 this month.

AMS Board of Directors and Program Committee meets

The office is currently preparing for two meetings coming up this weekend. The Program Committee gathers Friday to Sunday to deliberate and choose the Nashville program. They received 548 proposals, 144 of which will be selected.

The AMS Board of Directors meets Saturday and Sunday in Nashville as well. They have a full agenda, including setting next year's budget.

The office staff have been hard at work preparing for these two meetings for the past month or so.

AMS Publications subventions: deadline is Monday 3/17/08

Member access to JSTOR

Just in case members are not aware: the AMS recently entered into an agreement with JSTOR (www.jstor.org) to permit those with no affiliation to access JSTOR via the AMS members-only Web site.

* the Harold Powers world travel fund
* the Eugene K. Wolf travel fund for research in Europe
