The Rocky Mountain Chapter of the American Musicological Society (AMS-RMC) is now accepting submissions its 2017 annual meeting.  This conference will occur at the University of Utah on 7-8 April 2017, in conjunction with Southwest Chapter of the Society for Ethnomusicology and the Rocky Mountain Society for Music Theory. 

The Program Committee welcomes individual proposals on any musicological topic. The selected papers will receive 20 minutes for presentation, with an additional 10 minutes allotted for discussion. 

Proposals must be submitted electronically and include the following:

1. A proposal of no more than 400 words.  This abstract should represent the paper as fully as possible, describing its argument, findings, and significance as well as positioning them in relation to prior research.  The proposal should indicate the title of the paper, but it must omit the author's name and any other identifying information.

2. A letter containing the following information.  This may appear in the body of an email or in an attachment.

-Title of the paper

-Author's name

-Author's address

-Author's institutional affiliation (or status as student or independent scholar)

-Email address

-Audio, visual, or other technological requirements

3. Submission by undergraduate and Masters students must include a faculty letter of support attesting to the student's ability to complete a successful paper by the conference date.
