Eugene K. Wolf Travel Fund for European Resarch The Eugene K. Wolf Travel Fund is intended to encourage and assist Ph.D. candidates in all fields of musical scholarship to travel to Europe to carry out the necessary work for their dissertation on a topic in European music. The fund will award one or more travel grants each year to students attending North American universities who have completed all requirements except the dissertation for the Ph.D. in any field of musical scholarship and who need to undertake research in Europe toward the dissertation. The application should be in the form of a statement of up to 1,000 words in length describing the dissertation topic, research plan, projected itinerary, and institutions where research would occur. It should also provide a budget for travel and lodging. Letters of support are required from the dissertation advisor and one other scholar. All materials must be submitted by 5 p.m. EST, 3 March to the office of the AMS. The winner(s) will be announced by 1 May and at the Annual Business Meeting and Awards Presentation. Please submit materials via e-mail attachment to the office of the AMS. Letters of support may likewise be e-mailed or faxed to the AMS office. |
